In Traditional Chinese Medicine, what was called the 5 elements, sometimes called rhythms or seasons, were documented thousands of years ago as being what ruled our days, lives and even society. This amazing cycle can be seen in our 24 hour day, over the course of our lifetime or over a calendar year.
We have all 5 elements in us but usually there are one or two that determine our personalities, how we handle stress and even how we get sick and heal.
Each element will be profiled in the coming months with accompanying video links on how to balance that particular element energetically which can be found on EnergyGirl’s YouTube channel.

As with all of the elements there is a healthy to unhealthy spectrum that exists. Our job is to find that happy middle space bringing in more of the best aspects and minimizing the not-so-pretty ones.
And as with all elements there are respective organs in the body and emotions that correlate to each.
Metal is the season of Autumn.
It governs our Lungs and Large Intestine.
The positive emotions are Faith and Inspiration while the negative emotions are Grief and Letting Go.
This time of year Nature shows us every day how easy it is to let things go as we watch the leaves fall from trees. Our lungs and large Intestine let things go that we no longer need every day as we exhale and remove daily waste. So those who have physical symptoms relating to the lungs or large intestine such as asthma, emphysema, IBS, or chronic constipation or who perhaps has some unresolved grief would be wise to bring balance to their Metal aspects.
The other side is if one needs more inspiration and faith in life balancing Metal is a great place to start.
In addition to the energy exercises is this month’s video for balancing Metal,
* Clean out a closet,
* Wear or bring in more colors of Metal such as gray, gold or silver,
* Practice any sort of breath work you find comforting,
* Stay connected to people, and
* Meditate or connect to something Higher than yourself CLICK HERE for my 2 part Element Blog
